This pendant is made of Brazilian Citrine Crystal Quartz and hand-wrapped in 14 gauge sterling silver wire.
Citrine is pale yellow in color and comes from the Latin citrina. In ancient times it was thought to hold sunlight, protect against snakebites and bring wealth - hence the name "merchant's stone." Associated with Mercury, the Roman messenger god, it was often carved into intaglios. Citrine is often mistaken for yellow topaz or beryl. The material forms out of molten magma or mineral solutions and is mined mainly in Brazil, but there are deposits also in the U.S.
Size: 1 1/2" x 3/8".
Silver chain not included. Shipment includes only pendant shown in pictures.
